Delhi Capitals Vs Mumbai Indians Match Scorecard give you the best insight upon the winner summery of DC vs MI. Also you can say it give you a rough idea about the winner of IPL.
Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by 10 runs in an exciting high-scoring encounter at Arun Jaitley Stadium, led by Jake Fraser-McGurk who helped DC score 92 runs during their Powerplay innings.
Prithvi Shaw and Shai Hope both contributed with some big hits that helped their side post an impressive total. Piyush Chawla was taken out for just 18 runs in his initial three overs due to some heavy hitting by their batsmen.
Ishan Kishan’s century
After losing his central contract with the BCCI, Ishan Kishan was under considerable scrutiny from critics of his cricket skills. On his return to first-class cricket with India C against Railways at Ahmedabad’s Duleep Trophy Elite Group match on Thursday he answered all their critics with an impressive century.
Kishan hit 14 fours and three sixes during his 111-ball innings before being dismissed by Mukesh Kumar. His innings was highlighted by an important 189-run partnership with Baba Indrajith as India C reached 325/3.
Kishan will hope his century will give him an edge in the race for Test selection against Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel, both fighting hard to retain their spots in India’s white-ball side. Additionally, the 26-year-old Kishan hopes to add to his impressive ODI fifty tally after scoring four in succession earlier this year. Against Delhi Capitals on Friday he should look to keep up his good form.
Tilak Varma’s 64
Tilak Varma’s 63-ball knock may not have had a profound effect on the final outcome, but his comeback performance from Mumbai batsman was crucial in maintaining their focus in an entertaining high scoring match. After Hardik Pandya and Tim David fell early, it ensured the visitors did not fall apart during a high scoring encounter.
Uncapped star, Green made an impactful start, striking two towering sixes against bowler. Together with Kishan and Green he formed big partnerships; his aggressive batting kept up run-rate and contributed significantly towards MI reaching a respectable total score.
Tilak Varma has long been heralded as an India batsman of the future and this performance only strengthens that notion. The left-handed Varma is well known for his exceptional strokeplay, which was put on full display against Delhi – reverse-sweeping Markande for six off an initial short full toss and then drilling him over long-on for another six. Varma also hit Lizad Dar Salam for four fours and one six during his innings.
Hardik Pandya’s 48
Hardik Pandya struck an impressive 50 on Test debut to join an exclusive club of players – including Sarfaraz Ahmed who scored an unstoppable 108 against Sri Lanka at Galle last year – who have done it.
The comeback of Hardik Pandya from his ban has seen him return as one of India’s premier white ball all-rounders, leading Gujarat Titans to two successive finals this season under his captaincy.
He played an essential part in helping India advance to the semi-final stage of the 2023 ODI World Cup and batted an outstanding innings of 63 off 33 balls in that match.
Speaking after their victory, Kieron Pollard commended Mumbai’s consistency over time and their strong unit. He further added that it’s great to see everyone play their part and step up when necessary, crediting team management for creating an environment in which all can flourish.
Jasprit Bumrah’s 4 wickets
Jasprit Bumrah performs astonishing feats so often, you almost lose the ability to marvel at them. But then he comes along and bowls another highlight-reel ball, and you are left speechless again.
He removed Prithvi Shaw with one of his signature yorkers – the ball whizzed around the wicket before pitching to kiss Prithvi’s bat before collapsing into his leg stump and being confirmed by DRS as a wicket. A DRS intervention confirmed this spectacular innings from Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw who scored an astounding 66 runs off 40 balls!
Bumrah broke Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Porel’s 85-run partnership in the 12th over with an excellent delivery that came swooping in from wide outside off and struck Pandya square on his inward edge, leaving his stumps in an audible thud!
He finished his four overs with impressive figures of five for 30 to make an incredible five wicket haul in successive overs, propelling him to the top of the Indian Premier League wickets list and earning him immense praise from cricketing fans alike. It is an extraordinary achievement by someone with such a rocky start in their career.
Prithvi Shaw’s 3 wickets
Shaw has been one of DC’s main concerns this season and he’s keen to get back on track. The explosive West Indian opener must do all he can in order to stay in their national side; on Sunday against Mumbai he made an impressive 76 with five fours and one six hitting.
He was given an opportunity to open with young Fraser-McGurk, and they created a fantastic opening partnership of 247 runs as they gave the 41-time Ranji champions an outstanding start to their innings.
Kuldeep began his over with two dot balls before bowling a short delivery that Tewatia hit through midwicket for four. On his follow up ball he singled down deep square and was given another life by an officiating error from third umpire Spencer Johnson caught behind at short third man; which dealt a huge blow to Delhi batsmen, as they’ll need to perform better in their remaining two matches in order to qualify for playoffs.
Shai Hope’s 41 runs
Hope was poised for his second century when he misread a googly from Archer and was caught at deep mid-wicket by Livingstone. But before leaving the crease he hit two fours off Archer before smashing an immediate six off him in his next over and making the century mark with two more fours off him in quick succession.
Anchoring RoI with Sherfane Rutherford in a third-wicket stand of 147 runs, Mahmood hit three consecutive sixes off Mahmood to propel them to 328 for 6 on an ever-degrading pitch. Abhimanyu Easwaran and Dhruv Jurel had reached their respective landmarks but their wickets fell away at crucial moments giving Mumbai an advantage of 121 runs.
Jake Fraser-McGurk opened up for Delhi Capitals by smashing to a 25-ball 84 before being dismissed by Piyush Chawla. Shai Hope then kept up the pressure, hitting 41 off 17 balls with five sixes before helping Delhi Capitals score 67 runs in their powerplay before being stumped off Sandeep Warrier’s fast bouncer pitched between middle and leg by Spencer Johnson off Sandeep Warrier’s pacey bouncer which hit both middle and leg.
Jake Fraser-McGurk’s 3 wickets
Jake Fraser-McGurk may have gone unsold at auction, yet is already making a major impact for Delhi Capitals during his short stay with them. Batting at the top of the order and attacking every ball like an ideal T20 batter should, Jake hits one boundary every two deliveries and boasts the highest strike rate this season’s tournament.
He began in stunning fashion against MI and took advantage of Luke Wood to strike four and six off three deliveries within his first over. Jasprit Bumrah then came in for some hard hitting, which saw the 20-year-old hit him around for sixes and fours as part of an 11 run over that resulted in 19 runs scored from that first over.
At one point during his innings Yash Thakur hit him for six over midwicket before Mohammad Nabi caught him at deep mid-wicket. This impressive effort shows why Australia should select him for their T20 World Cup squad in 2019.
Tristan Stubbs’ 2 wickets
Stubbs is an outstanding South African batsman born to play modern cricket. Best known for his powerful big hitting style and energetic approach in longer formats like first class cricket he averaged over 50 runs per match since debuting for Grey High School Gqeberha and was the top run scorer at Khaya Majola Cricket Week.
Stubbs has made an impressive start to his T20 career with two fifties in two innings against both of the teams he is playing for – against them and then again in the inaugural Super League T20 final. Delhi Capitals picked him up from IPL 2024 mini auction.
Mahela Jayawardene from Mumbai praises Delhi’s performance in the tournament and believes they are an exceptional side. It has been a tough competition and players have worked tirelessly on improving their game. Jayawardene credits Shreyas Iyer with being both an excellent captain and person. Additionally he thanks everyone involved for all their support.
